On Their Way!
Early this morning, thirty very excited Year 5 children (and three equally excited staff!) set off for the residential trip to Grasmere. They'll be learning about 'contrasting locations' (Grasmere compared to Kearsley) - I wish I was going with them!
Friday Afternoon
Come along and support us or send a little cash with your child...
Thank you for your continued support.
Reception Buddies
One of today’s activities was reading to their reception buddy and talking about the story.
Neil Armstrong
Today we have continued to learn about Neil Armstrong. We worked in groups to sort facts about his life into chronological order. We also added our own facts to the lists.
Writing Lists
This afternoon we have been talking about writing lists. We went outside and wrote a list of what we could see.
E-Safety
We have been looking at how to keeping our personal details secure with Hector’s World this afternoon.
Bull's Eye!
It's not just IN school that our children hit their targets. One of our Year 1 pupils is pictured above looking rightly pleased with himself having hit the bull's eye (for the third time) at the recent Archery Day on the school playing field. Well done!
Egyptian Scribes
The children are being scribes and writing in Egyptian hieroglyphs. It is believed the Egyptians had 700 different hieroglyphs, unfortunately we haven’t got 5 years to learn them all like the Egyptian scribes.
Harvest
Here we are thinking about the meaning behind Harvest in preparation for the forthcoming Harvest Festival.
Maths in Action
Some hands on work to help us understand the concept of 1000 more and 1000 less.
