Forest School
After School Club

Here at St Stephen's Primary School we are committed to giving children the opportunity to learn in the outdoor environment and receive the benefits and experiences the natural world has to offer. Taking learning outside is beneficial in promoting children’s self esteem, well-being, creativity, collaborative learning, team building and problem solving all through hands on experience.

Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, and independent learners, these qualities feedback positively into the classroom and other settings.

Children are encouraged to be curious, explore and take managed risks; every child is the centre of their own learning.

Young Explorers Forest School visits school every Wednesday to lead our timetabled Forest School classes.
All years take part on a timetabled basis throughout the year (see "Classes - Forest School" on the website for timetable).

As well as our weekly timetabled sessions, Kaitlyn Kirby from Young Explorers Forest School also holds after school clubs on the following days:

  • Y1, Y2, Y3 - Wednesdays 3:15pm - 4:30pm

  • Y4, Y5, Y6 - Thursdays 3:15pm - 4:30pm
